You know when you get a bee in your bonnet? Yesterday mine was my kitchen cupboards. Yep I know, not the most exciting blog topic but stay with me because a grey day in the lakes encouraged me get on with it!
It was one of those jobs I wished I'd never started but I'll admit I felt somewhat cleansed afterwards and it seemed sweeter when it resulted in me rustling up some home made granola with my findings!
The bulk of my cupboard foraging came from Christmas ingredients! Already feeling wasteful, there was no way I was just going to throw it all away so here's my recipe for granola using things I actually had in my cupboard!
My recipe filled two Kilner jars (the 7inch tall ones) and I had a small bowl to nibble on (obviously) It's yummy! I've looked online and I think it should keep for around two months because the fruit is dried but you may want to research it for yourself! And I dont honestly think it's going to last that long.
I've so far eaten this as a snack, for breakfast with milk and fresh fruit, and with my homemade banana ice cream! Recipe to come! It's nice when you can actually rustle something up from the depths of your cupboards!
