I recently detected an indiscreet hint of desperation in a message from The Good News Girl and read on to see this...
I was the 'someone else' ^ and it was the perfect opportunity to fill my tv time while I was waiting for materials.
I've crocheted childrens hats in the past so a hat for an adut was sure to be the same right?... Wrong! it was frustrating to say the least and I may have had to pull a few rows out (whilst weeping) and do them again! Fortunately, the fact that it was for a good cause kept me sane when I was trying to force my crochet hook into tight slip stitches and cursing through gritted teeth!
I like a good cause and the Cumbria Community Foundation works wonders! I think we can take it for granted sometimes that we have warmth and clothes whilst others would be grateful for a woolly hat to keep them warm.
So here it is, my handmade woolly hat (and me comically modelling it!) a special hat for someone out there who will be totally thankful 😀
While I'm writing this post I've realised my friends request said that she needed the help for 2017! Obviously my manic Christmas crocheting along with charity crocheting caused me to plough right in and crochet like the clappers! Well at least it's done and you never know, maybe now there'll be time for more charity crocheting in 2017!
Have a look at the Cumbria Community Foundation and read about their amazing work!
