I've been nominated!
Exciting! I love blogging but sometimes I wonder if my posts are even read! Then I remember why I blog and that's because I like writing, I appreciate the simple things and I love life and being nominated for The Sunshine Blogger award stands for all of those things. 😀
I'll be honest and admit that I didn't know much about this award so did a little research, and once I'd found out what it was all about, I was pretty excited to have been nominated by Jenna. It's a real compliment so a big thank you! If you're not familiar with her blog, get clicking to be inspired, her blog post on why she gave her wedding dress away is truly heart warming.
How does it work?
There are a few rules:
A great way for bloggers to get to know one another!
Here are my Answers
1. Which blogger would you love to work with and why?
An evil first question! Isn't that like asking which child is your favourite?!
Okay so I love The daisy Pages! a blog that's all about simple living and minimalism. I love receiving Rachel's blog posts because she writes in a way that oozes simplicity and I think we share a lot of the same simple pleasures. Grab a cuppa and take a look at her website!
2. What one thing could you not live without?
The practical answer? My laptop because that's how I work!
The selfish answer? Food - I love eating!
The obvious answer? My family & friends 😊
I know, I cheated! 😉
3. Do you have pets? If not would you like to?
I'm a pet free zone! I appreciate the cuteness of other peoples pets but until they invent a hands free poopascoop contraption I'll stick with people!
4. What made you start blogging?
More to the point 'who' made me start blogging and that would be my husband. I moaned about wanting to write and he told me to stop moaning about it and do it! Voila, Simply Sarah was born!
5. Has your blog changed over time?
Of course! change is good and I think it would be naïve to imagine never changing, the world evolves and so should we! I recently read some of my old posts and saw that I'd lost focus and gone off on a merry tangent so I listed the reasons I'd started blogging in the first place and got back on track. You know, our busy lives often mean the little things are over looked so Simply Sarah is my way of sharing the simple things.
6. If you were offered an all expenses paid holiday anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Noooo I can't decide! The world is a big place, pretty please can I be offered an all expenses paid 'travel the world' pass? Too greedy?
7. What is your absolute beauty must have?
Mascara! I'm pretty low maintenance which means my only make up routine is eyeliner, mascara and some subtle eye brow colouring in to disguise a scar, that's it! But the minute I go mascara free it seems the whole world wants to tell me how tired I look! Yep, thank you world!
8. Do you have a favourite blog post of yours?
I suppose this answer changes the more I write but I like An honest Letter to my 21 year old self because it was therapeutic to write. It's so easy to be hard on ourselves and as my daughter turned 21 it made me think back to being 21 myself. (erm not too long ago...) My way of thinking has become more positive with time and I wish I'd have been more confident and less paranoid back then!
9. Are there any brands / charities you’d like to work with?
Ah this is a tough one! There are so many amazing charities out there which makes it difficult to choose one. Every year I try and help a charity by using my crocheting skills, this year I've donated coffee cosies to sell at The Big Sleep to raise money for their Winter Warmth fund and I'm currently back to making teeny hats for premature babies. As for brands, it would have to be those that appreciate simplicity in their products.
10. What would be a perfect evening in for you?
Seeing as our girls are all grown up and moved out, it would have to be an evening spent with them and my husband (predictable?), good food, silly games and lots of laughing.
11. If you could give your past self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Always be yourself.
Here my questions for you
There you have it, I hope you've enjoyed reading my answers seeing as I feel suitably grilled! and if you
Thank you! X
