I love having the Christmas tree up, the sparkly baubles, the twinkling lights and those cosy nights in. But the time has come to take the tree down! It's just not as fun as decorating it is it?!
Packing everything away carefully to make sure it lasts another year of storage, making labels from the Christmas cards to feel better about the waste and the boxes of Christmas paraphanalia hanging around the hallway until we can muster the energy to open the loft! And then as if to well and truly get rid of the evidence of the festivities, the dragging of the tree outside to await it's demise! It rebels by leaving a dusty trail of pine needles in it's wake.
The only good thing about taking the tree down is that big clean that follows because the excuse of "it's Christmas" is no longer a valid excuse for the lack of cleaning! I do like that cleansed feeling, knowing that every nook and cranny is dust and pine needle free. But, I will miss those cosy nights by christmas tree lights and the gorgeous smell of the Christmas tree.
There's only one thing for it...count down to Christmas!!
