It's nearly time to put up the Christmas tree!
My husband spends his working weeks in a flat near the office so I wanted to make sure it was festive for him at Christmas.
We went on a mission to buy a small tree and decorations so that he would feel a little more at home and managed to find a tree that was actually cheap and full! (Woo! no-one wants a scrawny Christmas tree!) A box of baubles and some obligatory glittery snowflakes in the basket but no topper to be found! It seemed there was no room in the world for small tree toppers! The stars and angels we found were simply too big so we stuck with what we had but of course it just didn't look right without a star or an angel or something!
Now I'm a mum and I've deposited all sorts of bits and pieces into my daughters art and craft box in my time! So I'm not shy in trying to attempt a work of art, albeit nursery art! I was at the works flat so had limited resources but the stray toilet roll tube inspired me!
Forget white tissue paper, forget cotton wool, I collected all the materials I had to hand...
I don't know what made me more hysterical, the sight of this new world angel or the fact that I bothered to make it! I am aware that this is an angel of advertising so please people be aware there are many other brands available! As you can see my materials to hand consisted of toilet roll tube, a supermarket magazine, napkins, scissors and tape. This amazing festive product adorned my husbands work tree throughout Christmas and brought festive cheer galore!
Apart from at night when he felt the need to make the angel face the wall rather than it 'staring at him'!
As you can see, I haven't lost my creative flair! ;)
