Yes today is apparently Blue Monday, a day filled with feelings of post Christmas blues, an extra notch on the old belt and that glazed over look that says 'back to work'!

Happy new year by the way, some may say I've neglected my beloved blog recently but I prefer to admit that I gave myself three weeks away from the blogosphere! I focused on Christmas, family and friends and not only survived but thoroughly enjoyed it.
(Apart from those three days before Christmas when we frantically trawled the shops for gifts. That's right, we were the ones who left it until last minute because we were suffering with the foggy world of post 40th birthday! 😳)
So is Blue Monday really a thing? Apparently it was established by a professor who created a formula to calculate which date we'd suffer the most!

I'm not sure we need a formula to be honest, I ask anyone who isn't feeling the January blues in one way or another to step forward!
So for me, January itself is a bit weird, that not knowing what day it is thing seems to last forever and I'm going through that familiar phase of 2̶0̶1̶7̶ 2018! On the upside I'm using my initiative and counteracting chocolate with blueberries by way of maintaining a balanced diet 👍
I'm fortunate to have a few things planned this month which will fight the January blues. The sky might be grey and I might be enduring a case of January lostness (possibly one of my made up words) but I push my shoulders back, lift my chin and declare:
We can fight this, we can beat the January blues together!
Eat the chocolate but get some steps in.
Drink the booze but don't get paralytic.
Ignore the grey & meet with friends.
And as a wise man/woman/person/human being once said -
Live, love and laugh.
