New mums in Kenya don't!
My beginner crocheting has resulted in my second charitable installment 😀 following the baby hats, I've made wash cloths. (aka squares!)
An FGM charity was organised by my local hospital and the new mums don't have anything, so because I'm not a professional knitter yet, I've made the wash cloths. Something which most of us wouldn't think twice about. A flannel is a flannel. But these ladies have no baby clothes, no towels, nothing.
Imagine not having that collection of tiny baby clothes growing as your unborn baby grows. I loved looking through my neutral collection, holding the vests against my bump and imagining those little arms and legs poking through the holes. Imagine not having a soft cloth to wash your little bundle of joy, that's where my basic crochet comes in. Wash cloths all ready to package up and Send to Kenya!
