Where are the months going?!
Apparently when time passes more quickly it means you're getting old, I refuse to believe that! April is here and that means lots of exciting things to look forward to. But for now, let me share my March with you. 🙂
The joy of hibernation
Okay so that's too much of a 'glass half full' title!
There's no simple pleasure about living in a germ den for a week! Though if I'm looking for a positive, I'm definitely appreciative for not catching the lergy that my husband was omitting! It wasn't just man flu, it was actual flu, not eating, lolling on the sofa, proper flu! 😯
We lived in an oven for a week, yes he had the heating on 24/7 and I hung around in a vest top, that's saying something for a woolly jumper, chunky slipper kinda girl! My pleas of 'let's open a window and let some air run through' was greeted with a choking fit from the shivering, croaking being that was my husband. I'd like to say I had a quiet week due to his sore throat and raw chest but his coughing saw to that! Once I'd grasped that it wasn't just man flu,😏 I did become more sympathetic so don't judge me too quickly!
In sickness & in health (& all that jazz)
A definite simple pleasure was playing Florence Nightingale to my germ ridden husband, I was a star of a supportive wife supporting him in various ways:
An absolute pleasure! I get to be a mum and celebrate it!
I remember when my daughter was little and I'd be presented with a cake that 31 kiddies had fingered at school.
('Oh I'll enjoy that with my bedtime brew darling...when I can secretly dispose of the finger printed, fluff contaminated, deliciousness whilst you sleep!) 😲
The special times haven't stopped but have simply changed, I got truly spoiled.
If there's ever a day to justify chocolate it's Mother's day so I was more than willing to accompany my daughter to the famous Choccobar where she treated me to a yummy pre-movie hot chocolate. The Greatest Showman left me feeling like I wanted to dance in the street, but I wouldn't have subjected the public to that! And a delicious meal at Rastellis was a perfect, pasta filled end to the day.
Family and food, good times. 😀
Views glorious views!
I love writing but my joy doesn't necessarily spread to other people, and whilst I'm busy being creative in my virtual life I'm well aware that other people are living their real life! (I do have one as well, honest!) I look at my blog as a simple 'grab a brew and read a magazine article' sort of pleasure and I hope I'm entertaining and inspiring with it.
This month has seen my view stats go up, up and up! (Whoop!) 🤩 a real month of appreciation. I'll be honest I was tempted to screenshot my stats page and frame it with neon lights to share with the entire universe. Short of the neon lights and not knowing the entire universe, I did screen shot it and share it on social media!
What? it was proud moment!
(Please feel free to like, subscribe and share!) 😉
Life's too short not to spend time with those you love, I know it's a bit of a juggle sometimes but I highly recommend postponing the chores and spending time instead! 😉(Any excuse!)
I love to catch up with people and that often involves lunches and coffee dates and March has been no different.
Sometimes it's nice to catch up with a friend and remember that it's not just you doing this or going through that. It's amazing to live in a world where we can video call friends in a different country and hear all about their adventures.
(Certain to persuade you into booking a holiday!)
And who doesn't appreciate the hugs, the smiles and the laughing that comes with getting together and sharing lives.
(Cheesy I know, but true)
The filled month of March
Well there you have it, March, the month that began with the plumber, (the infuriating dripping tap has gone!) the dentist (Usual expensive check up) and the flu (As described above) is complete and I patiently await more evidence of Spring! 🤨
Although germ filled, it's also been treat filled and blog view filled and I've appreciated every moment!
How was your March? Comment below to tell us what simple things you enjoyed last month.
