When summer ends and the leaves begin to brown, I'm secretly feeling fuzzy inside. I like getting wrapped up and heading out for a sunny, chilly, leaf-crunching walk and I'm that person who will venture down the Christmas aisle despite the Halloween aisle not yet being cleared away.
I appreciate its not for everyone and have friends who warn me not to start with the Christmas chatter before November. But I'll be honest, when those darker nights hit us in October, I'm buying mince pies, mulled wine and settling down to Christmas films. Absolutely acceptable obviously!
We have lots of people to consider at Christmas, in fact the last time I counted there were eighteen kidders, eighteen! and that's not counting our own two! So in Autumn I'm writing gift lists, getting ideas and in my opinion if I'm going to be trawling the world for gifts galore, I need sustenance!
I'm a positive person, I think life should be enjoyed and so as Christmas only comes once a year I believe in making the most of it. I believe in Father Christmas, in baking a fruit cake two months in advance, in being happy when the days are short (and often grey).
So when the festive tunes finally get played on the radio and the rest of the world catches up with Christmassy me, rest assured that I won't tire of Christmas chatter, I'll still be fuzzy inside (possibly mince pie and mulled wine induced) and I'll have more than enough Christmas cheer to treat you to a cheesy song or two!
