Is it just me or are the years passing by more and more quickly?! Yes I know, it's supposed to be a sign of old age but sod that! I'm staying young, despite 2017 bringing my 40th! 😆
Every year that passes teaches me to enjoy each day, to stay positive and make life happen. Yep, I'm constantly learning that life is short and definitely for living so for me, exploring new places and discovering new family this year have been amazing highlights!
So here we are another year almost over and a new one about to begin! I'm looking forward to next year, no holidays booked yet and nothing major planned, but a new year is exciting, it's an adventure awaiting to be written!
So a big Happy New Year to you all, have an evening full of family, friends and fun and raise your glasses to a healthy 2017!
Wow what a Christmas!
A day with family, we played with new toys with the Grand Kiddies, we giggled our way through photo's with festive props and I spent ages building Santa out of plastic bricks and was rather proud of the result if I do say so myself!
Dinner was delicious thanks to the husband - Jamie Oliver was right about prepping the day before! My favourite moment over dinner was when one of the grand kiddies accepted the solitary sprout on her plate as a tradition on Christmas day, whether you liked them or not, and was encouraged as we all popped one in our mouths at the same time. Her expression went from peer pressure induced enthusiasm to a poor attempt at a pleasing-everyone smile whilst grimacing and covering her mouth with her hand! She made it though! I expect she's pleased she has a whole year until the next sprout appears on her plate!
After the round of visiting we got home with enough time for a film and a festive drink! Cheers!
A happy Christmas for us, unlike my poor brother who was admitted to hospital on Christmas Eve and came home on the 28th! And to think I spent December serenading him with christmas songs to make him Christmassy!
Unless...it was my singing that put him in hospital...
Yippee it's Boxing day!
In our house It wouldn't be wouldn't be Boxing day if the left over turkey wasn't used in a turkey and leek pie! It's become a firm favourite and a festive tradition for us, so much so that we have friends claiming any spare portions! (As if there'd be leftovers!)
So if you've spent previous Boxing Days without this in your life, click here and get your chefs hat on, you won't regret it!
Would it be wrong to sit, pie dish in lap and armed with a fork?...
Here's to my husband for being the king of Turkey & Leek pie! (after Jamie himself of course!)
