You know that sinking feeling when you're driving and lost?! (maybe just me?)
I was recently getting frustrated as a car abruptly stopped and pretty much parked up in front of me as I was leaving a car park! I watched them ask a passer by for directions and his flailing could-be-directing-planes arms told me he was directing them towards the train station. A destination teasingly just 100 metres away but at the end of the one way system! They drove off and as they indicated to go down a dead end, I was't convinced they'd make it!
Secretly wanting to bang my head against my steering wheel on their behalf, I pictured myself in years to come (many years!) in the same situation, frustratingly just wanting to get somewhere! I pulled over, flagged them down like a crazy woman! and they nervously laughed telling me they were on 'an old peoples day out' heading for Lakeland Limited. I started to explain the one way system but their frowns of confusion said it all! I felt for them so I did my brownie good deed of the day and told them to follow my car while I led them back around the village.
I know my old Brown owl would have given me a pat on the back for helping the pensioners excursion to progress! and it's one up from when I sprinted around a park chasing a mans flat cap in the wind when I was nine (I got a badge for that!) So yes Brown Owl, your lessons of good deeds are still within and still badge worthy! 😉
